Croatia: a bank account now proves the means of a digital nomad's family
Croatia's Ministry of the Interior has amended the rulebook on the residence of third-country nationals. When a family member joins a digital nomad, a bank account can be submitted as proof of means of support.

Background
What happened
A decree of the Croatian Ministry of the Interior (MUP), signed on 8 April 2026, amended the rulebook on the residence of third-country nationals. The amendment was published in Narodne novine 43/2026 on 22 April 2026 and entered into force on 30 April.
Article 6 of the rulebook lists the documents that prove means of support in family reunification. Under the amendment, when a family member joins a third-country national holding temporary residence as a digital nomad, a bank account is also accepted as proof. The same applies to family reunification of minor children under Article 63(3) of the Act.
The same amendment also rewrote and extended the accommodation rules for seasonal workers.
