Croatia: the digital nomad monthly income threshold is EUR 3,622.50 for 2026
On 4 March 2026 the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) published the 2025 average monthly net salary in the official gazette: EUR 1,449. For the digital nomad residence permit, applicants must show 2.5 times this amount, that is EUR 3,622.50 a month. The Ministry of the Interior (MUP) guidance already shows the new figure.

Background
What happened
The financial condition of the Croatian digital nomad permit is not a fixed sum but is set by the government regulation on the maintenance funds of third-country nationals: the applicant must have at least 2.5 times the previous year's average monthly net salary each month, based on the officially published data of the statistics office.
The DZS notice dated 25 February 2026 was published in Narodne novine no. 21/2026 on 4 March 2026: the 2025 average monthly net salary was EUR 1,449 and the gross salary EUR 2,016. With the 2.5 multiplier, the monthly amount for digital nomads is EUR 3,622.50. The MUP guidance and its question-and-answer page already show this amount, together with the lump sums of EUR 43,470.00 for 12 months and EUR 65,205.00 for 18 months.
The 2024 average salary was EUR 1,318, and 2.5 times that is EUR 3,295; the threshold rose in proportion to the average salary. According to the MUP, the permit can be granted for up to 18 months, and the amount rises by 10% for each additional family member or partner.
